Ah the editor, the dreaded bane on every writer and the most under appreciated person in the creative process.
Remember, this was written a few years back. I had this joke in my head for a while and thought “It needs to be said!” and then a year later I found out someone had beaten me to it.
I do sometimes wish I could make shirts, but looking back at the strips, I can’t see too many concepts that could work as shirts aside from these strips. Also, Paul likes toes.
Originally this arc took a weird turn where a Child’s Services like place, except for artists, wanted to take Paul away. Paul thought it’d be a better idea to just keep Paul high. I think that worked much better.
You ever see Death at a Funeral? (British version, the good one) I had just done so before writing this, so it was probably the main inspiration.
