When I’m overseas I tend to lower my accent so a lot of people tend to assume I’m British. No joke, even fellow Australians have assumed I was from England.
Also, we’re on Patreon now, and this page was actually uploaded on there yesterday so why not go make a pledge (Even a dollar is greatly appreciated) and see all the bonus content we’ve included.
Yeah, I thought she was meant to be British, except that there are no Kmarts in Surrey, or anywhere in the UK. Also, “the pond” as a nickname for the Atlantic is mostly used by North Americans, and rarely if ever by British. Still, artistic license and all that.
The Australian/British accent confusion is often used as a plot device. One that comes to mind is an episode of Only Fools & Horses where Del and Rodney go to Florida and are mistaken for Australians.
Not that I can talk much. With my West Country accent, I’m either mistaken for sounding like a farmer or a pirate. But never a farmer-pirate, nor pirate-farmer. I don’t know what a farmer-pirate/pirate-farmer would be or do, but I’m pretty sure it’d be more interesting than cattle rustling.
And finally… For the sake of Dave, will some else comment on these comics, please!
Here’s a comment!
